Hi guys! Itās Cataleya again, and today we are learning about the cuties and puff kings: The Bearded Tit! These little fluffballs might actually be some of the roundest birbs EVER. šš

5 Facts About These Puffy Birds:
Despite its name, the bearded tit is neither bearded nor a tit!
The males have little black āmustacheā feathers on their cheeks, and for a long time scientists thought they belonged to the parrotbill family. Now they think theyāre more closely related to larks. Science is confusing⦠but cute! š
They have a super distinctive āping!ā call. Youāll probably hearĀ a bearded tit before you ever see one bouncing through the reeds!
There are only around 630 breeding pairs in Britain. They need big reedbeds to survive, so their habitat is limited which makes spotting one extra special.
They change their diet depending on the season! In spring and summer, they chomp on insects. In autumn and winter, they switch to seeds to stay full and fluffy.
They are EXTREMELY cute and puffy. Round bodies, tiny wings, mustache faces⦠everything you need in a perfect birb!
I think Bearded Tits are the cutest birds ever! Puffy, silly, and they totally make you want to squish them (but gently!!). šš
Thanks for reading, birb buddies! Donāt forget to come back next Sunday for more feathered fun. Stay curious and stay fluffy! āØš¦ And if you spot a bearded tit in the wild, make sure to listen for that little āping!ā See you next week! šš
