🐦 Bee Hummingbird: The Smallest Bird in the World!

Hey there guys! Its Cataleya here and today we are going to learn about a bird that is so teeny you won’t believe your eyes! The Bee Hummingbird!

Here are some facts about this teeny creature:

1. The Bee Hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world! About the size of your thumb.

   
   

2. The females are beige with green on their backs, and the males are brown with blue

   and shiny colors on their back and tail.

   
   

3. Their eggs are about the size of coffee beans!

   
   

4. They are also considered the world’s smallest “dinosaurs” since birds evolved from dinosaurs… so I guess River is a dinosaur now 😭

   
   

5. They feed from lots of different types of flowers to get nectar. They are very quick and visit many plants every day!

   
   

6. They can visit up to 1,500 flowers a day! That’s a LOT of flying 😭

7. They beat their wings about 80–200 times a second!

   
   

I think these birds are so interesting! Also they look so pretty with their blue sparkly backs 💙
