🐦 Rock Pigeons: The Birds That Delivered Messages!

Hey there guys! It’s Cataleya here, and today we are going to learn about a bird that lives in cities and is also really nosy 😂 The Rock Pigeon!

Here are 5 facts:

1. Pigeons a long time ago used to carry messages during wars. They were very important because they could deliver messages when other ways of communicating weren’t possible. Some pigeons even received awards for bravery! And now we call them pests and “city rats.” 🙁

2. I have a theory that they live in cities and don’t leave humans alone because they remember what their ancestors did... Meh, I think they just want food. 😂

3. Pigeons, as well as many other birds, can use Earth’s magnetic field to help find their way home. How cool is that?! 🧭🐦

4. Both parents feed their chicks with crop milk, which is a special food produced in their crops. It’s kind of like a bird version of milk! 🥛🐦

5. Unlike most birds, pigeons can drink water by sucking it up like a straw! Most birds have to take a sip and tilt their heads back to swallow, but pigeons can keep their beaks in the water while drinking. 😂
