Hey there guys! Welcome back to my articles! And you’re in luck, because since it’s winter now, we’re talking about one of the cutest winter birds ever: the Emperor Penguin! ❄️🐧
Five fun facts about them:
Emperor penguins are the biggest penguins on Earth!
They’re amazing divers
they can go deeper than any other bird.
They spend their whole lives around the icy ocean of Antarctica. There are over 60 colonies (also called rookeries), usually within 50 miles (80 km) of the coast.
They are super swimmers! Emperor penguins can dive over 500 meters and stay underwater for up to 22 minutes. Wow!
They need our help. Emperor penguins are considered “near threatened,” which means scientists are keeping a close eye on them. Warmer temperatures and less food make life harder for them, but people are working on ways to protect their icy home.
These penguins are SO adorable! The fluffy chicks look like tiny cartoon characters seriously the cutest things ever! 🐧💛
And guess what? Next week we’re adding another penguin to the mix! So come back for more chilly cuteness. Bye guys! See you next week! ❄️🐧✨
