Hi guys! It’s Cataleya! I’m still in Idaho, so today we’re talking about a bird that comes here for its summer vacation Calliope Hummingbird!💕

Here are 5 fun facts:
The Calliope Hummingbird is the smallest bird in the United States - it’s tinier than a ping pong ball!🏓
If you put up a sugar-water feeder, you might get to see one zooming right up close.
They love to perch on bare little branches, especially in willow or alder trees.
These tiny travelers migrate about 5,000 miles each year in a big oval, from their breeding grounds to their winter homes.❄️
Even though they’re super small, they’re really brave! Calliopes have been seen chasing away much bigger birds even Red-tailed Hawks!
They are just SO cute!!! I was totally amazed at how tiny and brave they are.😍💕 I wish I could see one right now, but it’s not summer in Idaho… oh well, maybe next time!
Thanks for reading, bird buddies! 🐦💚 I hope you loved learning about the teeny-tiny Calliope Hummingbird as much as I did. Come back next Sunday for another bird adventure!
