The Famous Roosters of Key West! 🐓🌴

Hey there guys! Its Cataleya here and since last week I missed my article because I was in Key West, today's article will be about the most abundant bird in Key West: the Rooster!

Here are 7 facts:

1. A rooster isn't a different species than a chicken. A rooster IS a chicken—it is simply a male chicken!

   
   

2. They crow to communicate and mark their territory, not just to wake people up! They would be pretty annoying birds if they did. 😂

   
   

3. A rooster's crow is SO LOUD. 💀 How do they not go deaf? Their ear canals actually close when they crow!

   
   

4. Roosters can see more colors than humans can.

   
   

5. When a rooster finds a good source of food, he performs a specialized dance called "tidbitting." He bobs his head up and down while making special clucking sounds to call hens over and encourage them to eat.

   
   

6. Roosters are VERY protective of their hens! They will fight almost anything to defend them.

   
   

7. There is a sport in some places where people watch two chickens fight and bet on the outcome. Wow, why would you want to watch that? 💀

   
   

I think chickens are really cool and tough! I saw A LOT of them in Key West. Also, my mom saw a rooster funeral for a rooster that got run over.
