Hi guys! It’s Cataleya back with a new article! Sorry this one’s a little late I was on a long car trip to Idaho! 🚗 But that gave me the perfect idea for today’s bird… the Mountain Bluebird
Idaho’s very own state bird! 🩵
Here are 5 cool facts about the Mountain Bluebird:
Mountain Bluebirds happily move into nest boxes, which makes it easier for people to help them find safe homes.
They actually have two different songs! At dawn, they sing a loud, cheerful chirp that sounds kind of like a robin.
During the day, they switch to a softer, warbling tune that can go on for minutes at a time.
These birds have amazing eyesight—they can spot a tasty caterpillar or insect in tall grass from over 50 yards away!
If you want to invite one to your yard, just set out a little dish of mealworms. They can’t resist! 🪱
Mountain Bluebirds kind of remind me of River, with their bright blue feathers. And since I’m in Idaho right now, I’m hoping I’ll spot one while I’m here. Time to kick up the birdwatching! 👀🐦
That’s all for today’s bird adventure! If you ever visit Idaho, keep your eyes peeled for a flash of blue in the fields and meadows you just might see a Mountain Bluebird soaring by. Until next time, happy birdwatching! 🌲✨ -Cataleya
